But inside? You may feel stretched thin. Maybe even disconnected from your own needs, or just plain exhausted in a way rest doesn’t always fix.
This kind of depletion — the quiet, slow-drip kind that accumulates over time — is something I see often in high-performing professionals. Especially those in service roles like legal professionals, health care providers, and teachers or school administrators.
Emotional labor, caretaking, and over-responsibility wear on the body and nervous system. The truth is, we can’t think our way out of depletion. We need to reset our energy from the inside out.
