About Me

Hi! I'm Stephanie Lewis

Certified Mindfulness and Qigong Instructor, National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach, Retired Employee Benefits & Managing Attorney, Family Caregiver, and Founder of LiveWellflow. And integral to all of these parts of my life is my mindfulness practice.

Stress is a constant in today's world. Like many of you, I was drawn to mindfulness at a time in my life when I was stressed and burnt out, operating on autopilot to push through, feeling like my brain was on fire. In the end, I paid for it with my health. Along the way, I quit my job, paused my career, and traveled to Asia.  Since then, I've studied a wide range of personal self-care practices, including meditation and Qigong, all while continually learning (and sometimes relearning) how to best care for myself.  For more than a decade, these practices have served me well in my career as a practicing attorney, as a family caregiver, and in dealing with the challenges of life in general.

Mindfulness is about non-judgmental present moment awareness and a calmer nervous system so that we can be open enough to give ourselves more choice about the decisions we make and the paths we take. It's so important for your health and well-being to increase your awareness about how you are sabotaging your own well-being and what shifts you can make to bring greater ease into your life. Often we are not even aware that we are making decisions that don't serve us well or why. There is so much about life that is out of our control. But there is much that is and that is where we can make a difference in our lives.

Mindfulness can be an enormously supportive practice as you build into your life ways to set boundaries and prevent burnout before it's too late - before your body starts screaming at you like mine was at me. Driven by an inner calling, I founded LiveWellFlow to help overwhelmed professionals discover how to care for their well-being in the context of their own life - personally and professionally.

With so many competing demands, it can be hard to focus on what you need for good health, inner calm, and peace of mind.  You might not even be sure about where to begin. That is where LiveWellFlow comes in, offering a compassionate space, support, and community to build and cultivate your mindfulness practice and decompress, recharge, and redirect your energy in ways that better serve you.

It's time. It's time for you to take the next step for your own well-being. It would be a joy and an honor to bring my passion, knowledge, and experience to partner with you on your own amazing journey.

And if you ever have questions, you can reach me at slewis@livewellflow.com.

In peace and gratitude,

Stephanie

More Kind Words About Stephanie

"Stephanie was an invaluable health and wellness coach for me. She presented me with questions, resources, and homework that I found empowering and productive. She is a great listener and synthesized my thoughts and feelings in a way that made things crystallize for me. I realized how much control I have over my own life choices. I am better at taking the time I need for myself so I can be a happier, healthier "me" which makes me a better mother, wife, and friend. I am responsible for my own happiness and I feel like I have the tools to achieve it now. Thank you Stephanie!

"Stephanie has an excellent workshop facilitation style with good pacing.  She encourages participation and doesn't overtalk, allowing silence and reflection between points.  She does a great job of selecting and editing content and mixing talking, activity, and partner sharing.  She also curates excellent workshop topics and resource persons."

"I have found Stephanie's meditation sessions extremely beneficial.  It has been such a great touchpoint in a time of great uncertainty and angst for so many of us.  She has an energy and a way of speaking about mindfulness that is simple but very impactful.  Her guided meditations create a space to deeply relax and let go, and it's always a different and supportive experience to practice with others.  It is positive, uplifting energy. I look forward to the sessions."

-Kellie

"Stephanie's meditation sessions combine thoughtful discussions of a variety of mindfulness activities with a guided meditation that uses that day's approach. I both enjoy these sessions and learn more about ways I can address stress in my life.  Her patience with, and support of, our efforts to create a practice reinforces the importance of being kind to ourselves.  I find these sessions an oasis of calm in an otherwise stressful world.  Thank you, Stephanie!"

"I have been working with Stephanie about 9 months, and I think she is awesome! So intuitive and so down-to-earth. She really empowers you to come up with your own answers. She might offer up her impression of what you are saying, but she makes sure to give you the space to let it sit and see if it really rings true for you. She comes up with excellent questions that get right to the heart of the matter; I am often amazed at her ability to know just what to ask. She also is adept at wearing a more "SMART goals" coaching hat for issues that benefit from that approach.

Stephanie has lots of excellent resources. I use her guided meditations daily, choosing among several depending on my needs. I find that all of Stephanie's meditations, in addition to their stated themes, leave me feeling grounded and at ease. There is something about the quality and timing of her voice and her choice of words and music that makes my heart smile. In addition to her own blog and workshops, she has suggested books and online resources from other practitioners as well. She really encourages you to find what works for you.

My own work with Stephanie has ranged from specific goals like establishing better self-care habits (exercise, meditation) to improving my relationship with food (she is a certified teacher of Michelle May's Intuitive Eating approach) to exploring issues as diverse as starting a new career, learning to trust my "little"/"inner" voice, and re-engaging with my artistic side. I feel that I have made huge progress in so many aspects of my life in this short period of time, and I credit her skilled support as being a key factor in that progress. I'm so grateful to have the honor of working with her."

"I’ve had both the joy and privilege of working with Stephanie on several occasions, including most recently when she moderated the Women’s Bar Association of D.C.’s program, “Power & Pressure: Navigating a Government in Transition with Resilience.” She did an incredible job guiding the conversation - her calming presence makes you feel as though you’re sitting across from a good friend, enjoying a cup of coffee together.

Stephanie has a special combination of warmth, wisdom, and professionalism. She not only keeps discussions flowing with ease and insight but also has a genuine way of caring for others and wishing the very best for everyone she meets.

She’s selfless in how she supports and connects people, and I’m personally grateful for the meaningful introductions she’s facilitated -they’ve been life-changing for me. In addition to being a gifted moderator and connector,

Stephanie is also a skilled mindfulness and mindful movement teacher. I had the opportunity to experience one of her qigong practices and was deeply moved by her practical, grounded, and effective approach to calming the nervous system and bringing more ease and joy into daily life.

Stephanie leads with a compassionate, kind and steady presence. She is a thoughtful leader and someone who makes everyone around her better. Anyone who has the opportunity to work with Stephanie, whether through her mindfulness teaching, facilitation, or leadership, will be better for it."
